Bricklaying A bricklayer is a highly skilled tradesman who can work direct from an architect’s drawings in order to build the project from the ground up. He is one of the most important people in the construction of any building.

Worthing Bricklaying Experts

We do a lot of work involving bricklaying in our day to day projects and I would like to just list a few things we do for your attention below.

We do general repointing of brickwork, we build chimneys, we repair garden walls, we build house extensions and we do decorative brick/stone work within panels on building faces.

Gem Building Specialists also provide structural repairs to buildings and walls.

Please visit our Structural Repair page.

We can source a wide range of bricks and blocks of both metric and imperial types to suit the project requirements and where it is possible, we will save and recycle bricks on other projects to not only help us save you money by having stock already available but also, to help us stay greener to the environment by cutting down on what we are disposing of to a landfill.

If you are looking to have a project priced that requires planning permission, we do ask that you have already sought this out in advance before we get involved.

We also like to work from a set of architect drawings to ensure that all the information we have for your project is accurate in each and every last detail. If you have these to hand when you approach us, we do ask for a copy to be on hand and also sent to us when we come to price your works.

If you do not have an architect or a building surveyor, then do not worry. We work alongside several different companies and can refer them to you directly.

Specialist Brickwork

One of the many bricklaying related jobs we get asked to do is repair older brick/stone walls and piers.

Our bricklayers specialises in old flint/stone/brick walls. From building a new wall from scratch or repairing a damaged wall, you are in safe hands.

Coal Shed Convertion

The gallery to the right shows a project we completed. We converted an old coal shed into an outhouse W/C for a customer in Worthing.

The project included new blockwork along with a new window fitted followed by a full render.
